What’s a sample day like on the ‘Weight Loss Healing Journey’?
The day starts with a wake-you-up Yoga and Movement class from 7:30am for an hour. This class will reinvigorate you and get you ready for the day that lays ahead!
It’s amazing how fantastic you feel after completing an hour of gentle yet still blood pumping movement that clears away negative emotions and fills you with early morning joy and happiness.
Next up is a delicious healthy break-fast with lots of fresh fruits and a selection of bowls with nutritious — and super delicious! — foods. These foods are hand-selected to give you that extra energy in the day whilst also being calorie light and nutrient dense.
After enjoying some detox food and drinks, it’s time to join the Healing Journey workshops, tutorials, cooking classes and how-to’s. These classes are incredible for learning the tools and strategies that literally force your body to burn fat, while ramping up energy and even delving deep into controlling and letting go of stuck emotions.
In this time with Katrina you start reinventing your life, design your ideal lifestyle and make new exciting plans for your healthy future. For new guests arriving you get personal time with Katrina before the class where you have time to get to know her before working with her as a group.
And remember, while everyone may be different, everyone is here for the exact same reason you are. To lose weight, detox and reinvent your life. So that’s why we all let go of our egos and enjoy helping each other alongside like-minded people who share similar experiences and common goals.
After this enjoy a lovely detoxifying lunch, with new friends and talk further and express yourself. Delicious whole detox foods served at this time.
Now is a great time to relax for a while, perhaps lay by the pool, enjoy a deep oil massage or a mid-afternoon snooze?
It might just pay off because next up there are Fitness classes, — different things happening on different days, from Abs, Butt & Thighs, to High Impact Training, Zumba class, Pilates and much more!
We run back-to-back classes in the afternoon so feel free to attend just one, or go to both classes and burn that extra bit of fat while getting fit, healthy & strong!
Follow this up with a little free time before dinner for more detoxification foods that heal your body, invigorate your mind and help you recover from the day.
In the evening there are sometimes evening performances like Balinese dancing and other events and ceremonies. These are continually changing based on moon-cycles and ancient calendars so get ready to experience what’s on first-hand here with us in Bali.
And now after an action-packed day you’ll be ready for a good night’s sleep. And don’t stay up too late, because there’s more fun, health and fitness in the morning!
What is the average weight loss per day and per week?
The amount of weight each person loses per day and per week varies based on a number of factors including starting weight, how much weight you have to lose, and how strictly you stick to the program. Among many more factors unique to each person.
However as a result of detoxing your body, doing the fitness classes and healing, you will lose a substantial amount of weight, thoroughly detoxify your body, and make lasting positive changes in key areas of your life.
Our ‘Weight Loss Healing Journeys’ are all about helping you detox and lose weight first, while on the program. Yet, of equal or more importance, reinventing your life so you can enjoy natural flowing energy, a strong, resilient and healthy body, and a clear and happy mind. As well as life-long weight loss.
This is achieved best by taking part in a re-setting process which won’t always be easy. Yet a process that will guarantee your weight loss results if you commit to it fully and follow along the program.
How many spa treatments (massage, body scrubs) will be included over the week period?
Massages or spa treatments are included as part of the program every other day. So for example if you book a ten day Weight Loss Healing Journey, this includes five trips to our spa. Upon arrival and check-in you will receive your spa-tickets which can be used to redeem your treatments. If you want prime times be sure to book in advance of course, so you can enjoy your massage or treatment at the time that you would like best.
What kind of food is included in the Healing Journey?
We serve whole detox foods and juices that heal your body and help you lose weight naturally. As part of your program you have three cleansing meals per day with lots of variety and different items to choose from.
Will I feel hungry?
The Healing Journey program is not about starvation or restriction, it’s about eating natural, delicious whole foods that help your body lose weight and maintain a healthy natural state. You shouldn’t feel hungry, yet not bloated either, you should be filled with energy in the way that only natural whole foods do, and your body will be naturally detoxifying throughout the program.
Are there any supplements included?
Our juices and detox foods are the primary sources of the natural vitamins and minerals you will need. We do not provide or prescribe pills of any form during the retreat. All your nutrient intake will be from whole foods and blended juices. This natural approach we find to be far more effective for the body to absorb and use nutrients as they come in a natural form with plenty of fiber for proper digestion and elimination.
Is there an exam by a medical doctor included, and blood work?
Because we are not a medical clinic we do not provide medical examinations or blood work. Instead we deliver a health and wellness journey alongside like-minded people who are ready to make changes in their lives with healthy eating, detoxifications, exercise and movement classes, massages, bodywork and Healing Journey classes.
Do you provide help to recover from Emotional Eating?
Our retreat leader, Katrina Love Senn (author of “Losing Weight is a Healing Journey” and “Heal Emotional Eating for Good”) is here with you to guide you and provide you with the support and encouragement you will need to end emotional or stress eating. She leads interactive classes on how to deal with emotional eating, negative self-talk, emotional triggers and habit change. Not only will you learn from her experience, you will learn from hearing from other participants on how they deal with similar issues and make changes and plans to ensure you’re ready to deal with these pressures in the future.
Are there resources for support after I return home?
Join our community of participants, friends and retreat leaders on facebook, Instagram and sign up on our newsletters. We regularly publish articles, guidance and share the experiences of others to provide you with continuous encouragement. We will also send you the login details to our members area when it is completred where you find PDF education content that you can use after returning home.
How many others will be participating at the same time?
We run open retreats so each Healing Journey is started for each guest personally. On average there will be 12 to 23 people on their journey with you at our retreat.
What’s the average age of guests, and from which countries?
We have guests from all over the world yet mostly from Australia, United Kingdom, United States, Canada, South Africa and New Zealand.
Most of our guests on average are between 35 to 65, we also have guests who are younger and older guests up to 79 years old. Guests who come to Bali Weight Loss & Detox Retreat are from all different walks of life, yet with common experiences and shared goals.
Everyone is motivated toward losing weight, detoxing and re-starting fresh healthy lifestyles!
The balance of male to female is usually around 40% men to 60% women.
Do guests enrol by themselves?
Yes, absolutely. For most of our guests this is a personal healing journey to lose weight. It’s good to be on this journey with like-minded people who share your experiences and have common goals. And great to come back and surprise your friends and family with all the weight you’ve lost!
So yes if you plan to come by yourself, that’s great!, most guests do, and remember we’re here to help you every step of the way. We’ll be meeting you at the airport and ensuring a successful and enjoyable weight loss vacation for you.
Meeting new people and getting out of your comfort zone a little is all part of the healing experience!
What should I bring with me on retreat?
Because we are a 4-star resort most of what you need is provided for you. All your toiletries and daily items are provided for you, as well as other necessities.
And of course included in your program is all your daily activities, food and drinks.
For the movement and fitness classes please bring light shirts and shorts to take part in the activities in. You will also want to bring sports shoes for fitness classes and walking.
You may want to either bring, or purchase cheaply locally, things like sunscreen lotion, hats, flip-flops etc. It can also sometimes be cool at night in Ubud so a pullover and some slightly warmer clothes should be packed along with summer clothes.
What is the weather like in Bali?
Rain or sunshine the weather in Bali is beautiful. Many prefer when it’s wet because the sun still shines and it’s truly amazing to see Bali, especially Ubud, in the glorious sun after a brief shower.
There are also times of year like June, July and August where there are extended periods of sun with little rain. I prefer when there’s some rain and sunshine which is probably the best time to come for natural beauty, yet if you prefer to have more full sunshine days then booking around mid year may be the best time to come for you.
The temperature is very constant because it’s a tropical island, so expect an average of around 28° celsius.
Is Bali a safe place?
Bali as a whole is a very safe place. Believe it or not it is likely far safer than your home country. What’s more, our 4-star resort is in the healing hills of Ubud, an art and wellness district with a small town surrounded by rice paddy fields.
Where we are located is very safe.
Will I need a visa to visit Bali?
For guests traveling from most countries you will receive a free 30 days entry upon arrival at Bali, Denpasar (DPS) international airport.
There are a total of 169 countries that receive an Indonesia visa free upon arrival.

Which airport do I book my flight to?
We are located in Bali, Indonesia, so the airport to book your flight to is Bali, Denpasar (DPS) international airport.

Does the program include free airport transfers?
Yes we provide a free airport pickup and return trip so you don’t have to think about negotiating rates for taxis or in fact pay anything else outside of your program and accommodation price with us.
How much is the deposit to confirm my booking?
The deposit to confirm your program is just 20% of your booking amount and fully refundable up to 14 days before your due date of arrival. We’ve made the booking process easy so you can book and hold your place in advance, and cancel if you need to.
What is the booking change and cancellation policy?
If you cancel more than 14 days before your due date of arrival your deposit and any other payments for your vacation with us will be refunded in full. If you cancel within 14 days of your due date of arrival you will not be entitled to a refund of your deposit amount. However contact us about this because we may be able to move your booking to a time which suits you better.
How do I make payments?
We accept all major credit and debit cards and take all payments online. PayPal is used to process payments however you may pay directly using any debit or credit card, without having a PayPal account.
Please contact us and we will send you the full payment details and methods of payment, as well as a quote for your Detox & Weight Loss holiday.
All payments are quoted and invoiced in US Dollars (USD).
When do I need to make the full payment for my program and accommodations?
The full payment should be sent before you arrive so you can enjoy an easy check-in and ensure that you can start the program on your booked date.
If for any reason you have not managed to make payment in full before arrival you may make payment upon check in. However please be aware you will still need to make the payment by paying an online invoice that we will send you. Payments can be made directly with any debit or credit card. You do not need a PayPal account.
Please be aware: you will not be able to start your weight loss program until payment has been made in full.
